Editorial Policies

Focus and Scope

Journal of Computational Vision and Imaging Systems is the official journal for the KWVIS Society and is an open access journal.  The goal of Journal of Computational Vision and Imaging Systems is to bring together both academia and industry to share their joint expertise to promote the advancement and application of computer vision and imaging technologies in various areas of academic and industrial interests.  Topics of interest for publication in Journal of Computational Vision and Imaging Systems include, but are not limited to:

- Reconstruction, restoration, and enhancement
- Compression and transmission
- Content-based image retrieval
- Object detection, recognition, and classification
- 3D and stereoscopic imaging and reconstruction
- Multispectral imaging, processing, and analysis
- Video processing and analytics
- Biometrics processing and analysis
- Visual quality assessment of images and video
- Computational imaging
- Machine learning / artificial intelligence
- Applications to various fields (e.g., remote sensing, health monitoring, biomedical, consumer electronics, manufacturing, life sciences)

Peer Review Process

All submissions undergoes a peer review process, with the papers judged primarily on 1) readability, and 2) technical soundness in method and analysis.  The typical time to first review notification is 2-3 weeks.

 

Publication Frequency

Journal of Computational Vision and Imaging Systems publishes regular articles on demand, with an additional special issue published annually.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
