A vision screening programme using a microcomputer as the presentation medium was instituted. Tests of acuity, accommodation, accommodative facility, stereoacuity, vertical and lateral phoria, positive and negative vergence limits and saccadic vision proficiency were included in the pilot study. These results were compared to the findings of a routine optometric examination. Repeatability and accuracy of the programme were evaluated. Results indicated which tests should be retained in the computer programme.
