Abstract

Art has been historically associated with cultural and technological changes in society. Recently imaging, genetics and new biological sciences have been utilized in what is known as Bioart. Visual science digital imaging, photonics, genomics, tissue engineering, and cloning utilize colored pixels. The visual scientist, biologist, geneticist, eyecare practitioner and artist work with a variety of bio-technology images. These images may be considered as an inspiration for Bioart. Internet references to some ophthalmic digital technology sites are provided. The Optometrist may view digital ocular diagnostic and therapeutic images with an appreciation of its aesthetics.
