Interested in Submitting to the Waterloo Historical Review?

We welcome submissions from students at the University of Waterloo and other universities interested in contributing to our annual, peer-reviewed journal. To ensure a smooth submission process, we recommend that authors thoroughly review the "About the Journal" page, which outlines the journal's scope, mission, section policies, and detailed Author Guidelines.

Before submitting your manuscript, please complete the registration process with the journal. If you have not yet registered, you can use the “Register” link at the top of the home page. If you are already registered, simply login to access the submission system.

Our submission process consists of five steps, designed to facilitate your work's thorough review and publication. These steps include:

  1. Initial Submission: Upload your manuscript and provide the necessary details about your submission.
  2. Peer Review: Your submission will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure academic quality and integrity.
  3. Revisions: Based on feedback from reviewers, you may be required to make revisions to your manuscript.
  4. Final Submission: Submit the final version of your manuscript for publication consideration.
