Abstract

Development Communication: Reframing the Role of Media is a book that offers an overview of the history of development communication while exploring the main actors of the field and world culture.

The author, Thomas McPhail, has written a book with a strong theoretical focus on development communication studies ranging from modernization theories to the movements of liberation theology to participatory communication, cultural imperialism and education-entertainment. Readers will find this book useful for understanding past, present and possible future directions of the development communication field.
