Abstract

xthe goal of the Internet training program was to get approximately 3,000 low income seniors and people with disabilities who live in 23 public housing facilities, subsidized housing buildings in the Northern portion of Illinois engaged in regular and sustained computer and Internet use. This goal is to be achieved by installing computer centers in the 23 housing communities, installing permanent Internet connectivity, implementing a unique program of customized computer training developed by the grant applicant, and giving people who successfully complete the training program free computers.
