Résumé

An experience to implement PDA technology has been done in Mali, in 2003-2005, to modernize banking operations for a microfinance institution (MFI). This project gave the occasion to experiment the mobile technology, but also the possibility for the poor population to have access to financial services, even if they are far from a large city (rural sector). The low cost of this approach, the facility to use it for the MFI employees, were the main reasons to choose the PDA technology in a limited environment. And it was a success...
