Abstract

This editorial essay presents an overview of the contributions in the Special Issue. It also raises critical questions for further research and thinking about Open Government Data.

Tim G. Davies, Web Science Doctoral Training Centre, University of Southampton

Tim Davies is a PhD student in the department of Social Science and the Web Science Doctoral Training Centre at the University of Southampton, where his work looks at the impacts of open government data.

Zainab Ashraf Bawa, Research Fellow 2009-2011, Centre for Internet and Society (CIS), Bangalore

Zainab Bawa is has been affiliated as a research fellow with the Centre for Internet and Society's (CIS) Researchers at Work (RAW) fellowship programme from 2009-2011. She is also a partner in HasGeek, a Bangalore based organization that organizes learning conferences for geeks. Zainab is a PhD candidate at CSCS, Bangalore and does independent research on cities, governance, property laws and housing, and technology and society.
