Abstract

Announcement

Nineteen sixty-nine. Inaugural ACML[A] Bulletin. Page two (of two). The Directory of Canadian Map Collections, compiled by Joan Winearls and Yves Tessier, would be bound and retail at $1.00 for ACML[A] members and $2.00 for non-members1 The members of the Association of Canadian Libraries ACML, established two years earlier in 1967, felt it was important “to have a directory of the main [map] collections as soon as possible.”2 Arranged by province, city, and institutions listed alphabetically, the first edition of the Directory of Canadian Map Collections is a foundational collaboration.3  Once published, it provided detailed bearings for researchers, and the public when navigating the Canadian map collection landscape.
